Anker shows properties for sale and rent in Aruba. This page explains what we store about you and why.
Browsing
You don't need an account to look at properties, and we set no advertising or analytics cookies.
Listing statistics
To show agents and real estate companies how their listings are doing, we count how often a listing appears in search, map and home page results, how often its page is opened, and how often someone on that page taps to call, WhatsApp or email the agent, or opens the agent, the company or the original listing. We use no cookie for this and store nothing that identifies you: a visitor is a code made from the IP address and browser, which changes every day and can't be traced back to you afterwards. That way each visitor counts once a day per listing.
The individual counts are kept for 90 days; each listing's daily totals are kept indefinitely. To stop abuse, we limit how many counts one IP address can send.
Your account
When you sign up, we store:
- your email address, to log you in and to send you the links that verify it and reset your password;
- a hash of your password, never the password itself;
- when you signed up and verified your email, and your role (member, for instance);
- the listings you've saved as favorites;
- for administrators, their authenticator app's key and hashes of their recovery codes.
An account that isn't verified within 7 days is deleted automatically.
Email alerts
If you've asked for an email alert, we store your email address and the alert's search, to send you new properties that match. Every email has a link to stop it. An alert that isn't confirmed within 7 days is deleted automatically.
Cookies
When you log in we set one cookie to keep you logged in, for up to 30 days. During a login with two-step verification, a second cookie lasts 10 minutes. They're needed for accounts to work and don't follow you to other sites.
Server logs
To stop abuse we count login and signup attempts per IP address. Our server logs record the IP address of failed logins, and old entries are deleted as new ones come in.
We send email through our email provider. We never sell or share your email address with anyone.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and everything in it from your account page. An email alert can be stopped with the link in each email.
